Admission to nursery

There are 3 points of entry for children to the nursery. These are September, January and April. Children start the term after their third birthday but this is subject to availability of places. At present, children are entitled to 15 hours free over 5 days. There are morning and afternoon sessions.

Please click here to fill in and submit the application form.

30 Hours Places

We also offer a number of places for 30 hours free per week to parents who meet the Department of Education criteria. Those who could be eligible will be directed to the digital childcare service to apply. The eligibility criteria for 30 hours and/or Tax-Free Childcare are broadly aligned.

For a more detailed guided to the 30 hour eligibility criteria see:

https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/free-childcare-and-education-for-2-to-4-year-olds

We aim to make starting nursery as comfortable as possible for the children. Home visits take place so that staff can meet the children in a familiar environment. Starting times are staggered over a short period of time to help your child settle gradually.

For more information about children with special education needs and/or disabilities (SEND) please look in the SEND section of our website.

Admission to school (reception-year 2)

Children become eligible to join school in our reception class during the year in which they have their 5th birthday. Parents may elect to send their child to school on either a full time or part time basis in September or may delay starting until the Spring or Summer terms. The options available differ depending upon when your child has their 5th birthday. Further details can be found on the Sheffield City Council website by following the link below.
