Brightside Nursery Infant School was built in 1878 therefore it is over 140 years old. It is situated on the eastern edge of Sheffield, overlooking the Meadowhall Shopping Centre. The school is separated from its catchment by a busy road, and serves an area of privately owned and rented accommodation. It is a large stone built school with a separate Nursery and Children's Centre building which has its own playground. The school has a large yard to play in at break times and lunchtimes. There is a school library available with a wide range of books for children to borrow. With the support of local companies, we have recently began to renovate our school garden and school field to create outdoor spaces for learning.
Brightside Nursery Infant School is a two form entry school with 60 places in reception, year 1 and year 2. We also have a places for 78 children in nursery. Please see the admissions page for more information. The feeder junior school is Limpsfield Junior School which is around a 10 minute walk away.
