Staff Governors

Lindsey Mercer

As Head teacher of Brightside Nursery Infant School, I feel fortunate to be part of a Governing Body that has such a range of interests and expertise. This breadth of knowledge and experience allows for different dimensions and viewpoints to the school’s work.  It helps and supports us in our continuous strive for excellence and in our aim to provide every child with the very brightest start.

Being a school Governor allows you to influence the environment in which children spend a significant amount of their time. I would recommend it to anyone!

Headteacher

Katie Parker

I am really excited to join the governing body this year. I have worked at Brightside for nearly 10 years in both the reception base and now in nursery. During my time at Brightside I have developed a deep passion for the early years and how children learn at the very beginning of their schooling journey. I believe that all children deserve the very best start in life that we can give them, not just academically but also to help them develop to become happy, confident and caring members of society which is strongly supported by our school ethos.
