The year 2 children have enjoyed Science Week at Brightside School this week. The children read the book 'Egg Drop' at the beginning of the week and then decided to make some armour to help the egg when it was trying to fly. The children designed the armour for their egg using lots of different materials such as felt, cardboard boxes, cotton wool and plastic tubs. They thought about the properties of materials to help keep the egg safe. The children then carried out their investigation in the playground. They dropped their eggs and checked to see if they had survived. Seven eggs in class 5 managed to survive and five eggs in class 2 managed to survive! Thank you to all parents and carers who brought in recyclable materials for us to use.
