Y1 PE Cricket Skills

25 April 2019 (by Claire Staveley (Claire))

Y1 had visitors into school to work with them in PE to help develop early cricket skills

Earlier this week the Y1 children enjoyed having two visitors come and work with them to introduce them to cricket and the ball skills needed for this sport. The children played games like 'treasure chest' where they had to work in teams to collect the most treasure from the middle hoop before it was all gone. They also practised their throwing and catching skills, even challenging themselves to catch the ball using a cone- this was very tricky but lots of fun! The children then got to try out using some of the cricket equipment by using a bat or a stump to control a small ball and move it carefully around the cones. All the year 1 pupils really enjoyed their PE lesson and they will work on further developing these skills this half term. Well done Class 7 and Class 10.
